When you look across the ocean with the sunrise or the sunset, you see the colors mirrored on the surface. This is like our appearance, beautiful when calm and serene. But if you dive down deep, into the depths, that is where the true beauty of a person lies, in their soul. This is the beauty that we miss, when we make surface judgments about someone.
Rumi says, “Your heart is the size of an ocean. Go find yourself in its hidden depths.” Self knowledge is the place to start. We need to dig down deep within us, and question all of the stories we have told ourselves about our life. What do we know to be 100% totally true?
If we seriously ask and listen to the answer to this question, most of us would have to acknowledge that most of our stories about life are made up. We make them up to make sense of the things we have seen, done, and experienced. John Lennon said, “The more I see, the less I know for sure.” This is because the more that we learn about life, the more we see that most of our knowledge is surface knowledge. The deeper we dive, the more we see how much more complicated and interconnected our understanding of life is.
“Knowledge is knowing the depths of the ocean. Wisdom is knowing where to swim” Saleem Sharma. Sometimes life can be hard to navigate. When the storms come in, the waves churn up from the bottom of the sea bed. Things come to the surface that have been long buried. We are like this when the storms of life blow in. All those things that we stuff down inside of us, because we either can’t, or don’t know how to deal with them, come churning up to the surface.
Instead of being afraid of what we have buried, we need to rise up and calm the waters. Be still. Breathe. Be at peace. Realize that God never brings anything into our lives that we can’t handle. Wake up to your dreams. Live them out in your reality.
Lean on the divine, and on those who love us. Change what can be changed, release the rest. See the hope of a new day, the beauty that lies within each of us, and the love that never dies. Remember that you can do anything you “think” you can do, and impossible really means “I m possible”.

Wow! Truly inspirational. Her personal mantra is “no legs, no limits”. Reading her story I realized that my excuses for not being physically fit are pretty lame. What limitations are you buying into with your life today?
She isn’t letting what some people call a disability hold her back. She is proving that owning who you are makes you hot. What is holding you back from your dreams today?
There is a personal belief in yourself and your dreams that is definitely in play here. If it is in your heart, and you really feel it, the vision pulls you. There is nothing that will stop you. I read this in someone else’s Facebook posts and really liked it “it is like the sun – you can’t block it, it will shine regardless”. Do you feel that sunshine?
A true LemonadeMaker, she is redefining the rules around beauty, and she is gorgeous. Kanya Sesser’s goal is to prove that “different” is sexy. She’s been modeling sports brands, bathing suits and personal lingerie since she was 15.
In addition to be being a successful model, she surfs, skateboards, races bikes, and is currently training for the 2018 Winter Paralympics as a mono skier.
She was adopted from an orphanage in Thailand when she was 5 years old. I want to give a shout out to the parents who adopted her. They raised her to be a strong, confident woman who is not afraid of who she is.
“I love showing people what beauty can look like,” she says. “These images show my strength.”
My heart broke for Reshma when I read her story. Imagine walking out your front door. Your older sisters estranged husband and two other men attack you. They push you down to the ground and pour sulfuric acid on your face causing extensive damage. Your sister tries to help and suffers burns on both of her arms.
When something like this happens you ask yourself why? Reshma asked what could she do to help others. What could she do to bring awareness to the public, so that sulfuric acid is no longer sold in the makeup department for the price of a lipstick.
She is known as #BraveBeauty because she is bravely bringing attention to these horrible crimes that happens in India, Bangladesh and Cambodia. She is putting a face to the crime. The crime seems to be only against women. Some are liking it to rape. In her case the family thinks it was related to how pretty she was before she was maimed. I believe that she is showing the world that the real beauty is what is inside.
They have created a petition to change this because every day a woman in India is being attacked in this way. Last year 309 acid attacks were registered in India. Activists say that hundreds go unreported. The video in this attached link was produced by the group Make Love Not Scars and the hashtag #EndAcidSale.

Thank you to all of my wonderful friends who support me year in and year out. I have been reviewing all of the posts on LemonadeMakers since the beginning of January.
It seems to be a buzz word to talk about how much we have grown, and I have said the same thing about my journey the past three years.
As I have been going through each of the posts and printing out the stats for them, I see plainly how much I have grown in what I was posting and writing. It took a few months to find the right voice for LemonadeMakers.
I am not saying that I fully understand what LemonadeMakers fully resonate with, but the past three months we have been growing almost1,000 followers a month. I am still experimenting with the right approach and we will be changing the look and feel of LemonadeMakers in the next 30 days or so.
What I do see is how much we love to see the good in humanity. That there are growing numbers of people who give without thought of recognition or reward, but because they see a need and a means to fill it. Lives are being changed everyday. Part of it is because we are encouraged by sites like LemonadeMakers to go out and do something positive in our daily lives.
If you haven’t checked out our site and liked it, please come over and join us. We are a pretty cool place to connect with other wonderful people. It will put a smile on your face and restore your faith in the human race.
Sometimes we need to let go of how we thought our life should be. Instead we need to embrace the life that our soul is calling out for. The life we were meant to live.
It is scary. It can feel like we are all alone.
But maybe the journey is all about unbecoming who we are, so that we can become who we are meant to be.
