Enrich the World

“You are not here merely to make a living. You are here to enable the world
to live more amply, with greater vision, and with a finer spirit of hope and
achievement. You are here to enrich the world. You impoverish yourself if
you forget this errand.” — Woodrow Wilson

I have always loved this thought that each one of us is here to make the world a better place, the world needs you to let “your” light shine!

Art of Acceptance

“The art of acceptance is the art of making someone who has just done you a small favor wish that he might have done you a greater one.” – Russell Lynes. Instead of feeling unworthy or embarrassed by someone doing us a favor our gratitude and acceptance of the gift makes them feel even better!

Unexpected

“Even a mistake may turn out to be the one thing necessary to a worthwhile achievement.” – Henry Ford.

We have a habit of making plans for all of the necessary steps to do something – following a recipe or attaining a goal. Then what we think is a mistake happens and sometimes that mistake takes us in a whole new direction that creates something extraordinary. Shift the attitude & encourage the unexpected!

Boxes

This is so funny. Al and I were actually discussing the “nothing box” this past weekend, only I didn’t know it had a name. It is all about how men can think about nothing and still manage to breathe!

Become

Change is not about “fixing” yourself. You are not broken. It is about asking yourself – what do I now want to become? What do I want this life to be about? How can I discover a new truth about life itself? You are creator and creation all in one fantastic package!

2nd Wind

“Most people never run far enough on their 1st wind to find out if they’ve got a 2nd. Give your dreams all you’ve got and you’ll be amazed at the energy that comes out of you.” – William James.

It’s like you bounce off an invisible fence that your mind creates. Instead, this one time, push past the barrier! Amaze yourself and everyone you know
with your personal brilliance! Happy Dance!!!

Believe

“Every achiever that I have ever met says, ‘My life turned
around when I began to believe in me.'” – Dr. Robert H. Schuller
Do you really believe in yourself? That you are capable of anything?

Reframe

Expect the best, plan for the worst, and prepare to be surprised. I love being pleasantly surprised and in constant wonderment. “I wonder what happens next?” is my favorite reframe when something is not turning out how I wanted it to. Instead of being negative I reframe it to expect something wonderful instead.

Powerful

“Only those who will risk going too far can possibly find out how far
one can go.” – T.S. Eliot

Sort of goes with Marianne Williamson’s quote “Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure” because then we HAVE TO do something about and we can’t hide from it any longer.

Criticism

“Criticism didn’t really stop us and it shouldn’t ever stop anyone, because critics are only the people who can’t get a record deal themselves.” – Sir Paul McCartney. Criticism is not from a place of sincere help, but from a place of jealousy & fear of how great you are. When you get criticism, listen with your inner knower & only “hear” the parts that are really true & helpful to you, then shut out the rest.

Inspiration

Don’t wait on inspiration — because inspiration is waiting on you, right now at
this very moment. Create a vision. Invoke your passion. Ask for a sign.
You will get one.

Broken Places

“The world breaks everyone; then some grow strong in the broken places.” – Ernest Hemingway

I love this quote, and never hearing it before I immediately thought of the importance of reframing our experiences that could be termed as negative. If you fall down do you lay there and complain to every passerby or do you pick yourself up, and say “isn’t that interesting, I wonder what happens next?”
